Welcome to Royal Holloway’s Drama Society!

Royal Holloway’s Drama Society is one of the most active societies on campus, aiming to provide the opportunity for all members to participate in dramatic activities regardless of chosen degree course or relevant experience. All members get the chance to learn new skills and widen their horizons as performers, designers, producers, directors, stage managers and much more.

The society stages approximately seven productions a year, including a production that’s taken up to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival every year, the Unscene Festival in January and the annual open-air Quad production in June. Recent productions include: Cloud Nine by Caryl Churchill, Ubu Roi by Alfred Jarry, Glimpre by Lara Stavrinou, The Cripple of Inishmaan by Martin McDonagh, The Arsonists by Max Frisch, Much Ado About Nothing by William Shakespeare (Quad Production) and Crave by Sarah Kane (Edinburgh Fringe).

The society also has an extremely active social element, with events taking place during most termtime weeks. Examples include Production Launch Nights, Theatre Quiz’s, Theatre Trips, Technical Workshops, London Social’s and the annual RHOSCARS Awards Ceremony, which includes four other societies on campus.

So basically we are a fun, exciting, action-packed society that encourages any one to come along and take part in what we do!
